Material:

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium sized potato
  • 20 spoons gram flour
  • 2 teaspoons rice flour
  • turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli
  • a pinch of baking soda
  • finely chopped coriander
  • oil for frying

How to make Aloo Pakoda:

  • Take water in a bowl and add salt in it. – Stir well and let the salt dissolve in it.
  • – Take a potato and wash it thoroughly. Peel it and cut it into thin pieces.
  • Dip these slices in salt water.
  • – Take gram flour in a bowl and mix rice flour in it.
  • Add turmeric, salt, chilli powder, baking soda.
  • Stir well and add water little by little to make a good mixture.
  • Add green coriander and mix. The mixture should be slightly thick.
  • – Keep the mixture covered for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Remove the slices from the salt water, drain well and add to the flour mixture.
  • Dip the potato pieces well from all sides, wrap them and put them in hot oil with a spoon or hand.
  • After frying for about 2 minutes, turn the bhaji and fry on the other side for 3-4 minutes.
  • – Take out the vegetables from the oil and keep them in a plate.
  • Aloo bhaji is ready, eat.
  • Serve Aloo Bhaji with green chutney and tomato ketchup.

  • firstly, using rice flour gives a crisp taste to the bhaji/pakoda. You can use cornflour instead of rice flour for extra crunch.
