Masala Dosa Recipe | How to Make Masala Dosa Recipe

Ingredients for Dosa:

  • Rice – 3 cups
  • Washed urad dal – 1 cup
  • Baking soda – 3/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
  • Oil – for frying dosa
  • Salt – as per taste

Ingredients for Dosa Masala:

  • Potato – 500 grams
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Peas – 1 bowl
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard – 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
  • Green chilli – 4-5
  • Dry mango – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli – 1/4 tsp
  • Green Coriander – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – as per taste

How to make Masala Dosa

  • To make Masala Dosa, first take urad dal and rice. Wash it thoroughly and soak it overnight. Clean some fenugreek seeds and soak them overnight. – Now drain all the water from the soaked dal and grind the urad dal with fenugreek seeds. Then keep it in a big bowl. Grind the rice separately. Use less water while grinding.
  • – Now mix both and make a thick mixture. Now to ferment this mixture, add baking soda, salt and keep it in a warm place. Keep it for 12 to 14 hours. Due to this, the prepared mixture will become double than before. – Now this mixture is ready to make dosa.
  • – Now boil the potatoes for Dosa Masala and when it cools down, peel and mash it. – Now to make potato masala, heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds in it. – Now add turmeric, coriander powder, green chilli, ginger paste. Fry for about a minute. – Now add peas and 2 tablespoons water. – Add potatoes, salt, red chilli, dry mango powder to this masala and fry for 2 minutes and add green coriander. Now the masala for your dosa is also ready.
  • – Now to make Dosa, first take a non-stick pan. – Then add some oil in it. Place the dosa mixture in the center of the pan on medium flame and spread it in the shape of dosa. – When it becomes a little crispy, fill the masala in the middle and close it. In this way your masala dosa is ready. Serve with coconut chutney and sambar.
